Go West – Legends of the 80's

Go West, the British pop duo of Peter Cox and Richard Drummie, rose to fame in the mid-80s with their sophisticated blend of pop-rock and blue-eyed soul. Known for their polished sound, powerful vocals, and sleek aesthetic, the duo quickly gained popularity with a series of chart-topping hits that established them as icons of the era.

Their debut single, “We Close Our Eyes,” released in 1985, became an instant hit across Europe and the U.S., and its accompanying music video—known for its edgy visuals and innovative choreography—was a staple on MTV. This marked the beginning of a successful career that would see Go West continue to push the boundaries of pop with their unique style.

Their success continued with hits like “Call Me” and “Goodbye Girl,” but it was  “King of Wishful Thinking,” featured in the hit movie Pretty Woman, that truly solidified their legacy. The track’s infectious chorus and Peter Cox’s soulful vocals resonated globally, and the song remains a beloved anthem of the 80s and early 90s pop era.

In April 2025, Go West will bring their iconic hits to 80’s Orchestral in Dublin, performing with the Electric Dreams Concert Orchestra to breathe new life into their classics.
